SWA welcomes growing consensus for duty system review

Commenting on the SNP manifesto commitment to review UK excise structures, SWA Chief Executive Karen Betts said:

“The SNP’s commitment to reform of the alcohol tax system is very welcome and is further evidence of the growing consensus that the current system is no longer fit for purpose.

“Reform is long overdue. We want to see a system that is fairer for producers, clearer for consumers, and continues to drive tax revenue to fund public services – all of which is achievable in well-thought through reform.”
