Scotch Whisky industry celebrates at annual Spirit of Scotland event

Held in Edinburgh, at Mansfield Traquair, the annual Spirit of Scotland showcase on Wednesday evening was a celebration of the wider Scotch Whisky industry. Bringing together over 160 people, from senior representatives at SWA member companies, politicians, business organisations and key stakeholders, the event was hosted by the Scotch Whisky Association with Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes as guest speaker.

Drams and cocktails were generously provided by member companies including Glenmorangie, Diageo, Chivas Brothers, Edrington, Annandale, Lochlea, Suntory Global Spirits and William Grant & Sons. 

The event was an opportunity for those outside of the industry to gain deeper insights into the rich heritage and ongoing innovation happening within it, and sample some Scotch Whisky products. 

Speaking at the event, Kate Forbes, Deputy First Minister, said: "We have this incredible industry that is historic in its importance, international in its significance and, by it's nature, future thinking.
We can achieve a lot together. The government is incredibly supportive of what you will achieve, not just across Scotland but also the world."
